New for 2017 - Introducing Personal Practice Evenings

I am delighted to formally announce the Personal Practice Evenings that will be running from 8pm on specified Thursday nights throughout the year.

They are aimed at helping you to learn new ideas, deepen your own personal practices and self-development in a welcoming, supportive and compassionate environment.

Subjects will include a wide range of interesting and experiential topics intended to be useful for both beginners and experts alike.
Whether you are someone who is "new to all of this" and would like to learn more, or "have been doing this for years", it's my hope that you'll enjoy spending time with like-minded people, learning information that you can apply to daily life - in the interest of feeling enhanced wellbeing, balance, less stress and more happiness.

We'll speak about various meditation techniques and exercises, mindfulness, angels, crystals, healing, positive psychology, self-help and more.
Making a real and definite difference to those who attend is at the core of my motivation so please feel free to make suggestions if there are specific ideas you'd like to learn about or practice.

Please note that each evening will have a different topic which will be announced closer to the time.

Traditional Japanese Reiki Level 2

Following the great success of the "Introduction to Traditional Japanese Reiki Techniques & Meditations" course, I am very excited to announce that  the next level starts in a just a few weeks' time.

Each week you will learn Traditional Usui Reiki Techniques that will help you to deeply develop and empower your Reiki. It will enhance the sensitivity in your hands, develop your intuition and greatly strengthen your self-confidence in giving healing to others. You will learn useful and beneficial alternative techniques to support your healing work. You will also receive 4 Reiki empowerments (one each week). 
Classes start at 8pm each week, every Thursday for 4 weeks.
Course dates: Thursday, 16th June, 23rd June, 30th June, 7th July 2016.

Course cost: £100
The course is held in Addlestone, Surrey, KT15

* Certificates awarded.
* If you are a professional practitioner, you will gain 8 hours towards your Continued Professional Development (CPD).

Very proud to be "CNHC Registered"

I am thrilled to announce that I am now formally listed on the CNHC's Accredited Register for Reiki Practitioners. You can find me as Susan-Emma Walsh in Addlestone. 

"CNHC registered practitioners are able to display the quality mark on their registration certificate, in their place of work and on promotional literature such as leaflets, headed notepaper and on their website. The CNHC quality mark provides an independent seal of approval to well-qualified, responsible professionals in the complementary healthcare field.

Just for today, do not anger

Sometimes it takes every ounce of willpower not to respond to situations with anger, even more so when we feel justifiably so. But, just for today, do not anger.

You may be totally justified in feeling angry, which in turn actually only serves to fuel it. But take a moment to think on how that's making you feel? Better or worse? (Usually worse). Has your anger healed or resolved the situation? (Usually no - and usually only serves to make it worse). 

The first #Reiki precept "Just for today, do not anger" comes first because without working on anger, we cannot begin to move forward and learn more about our true, compassionate, selves.

It's a tough lesson to learn and one that will be taught in different guises over and over again. Just when you think you're getting a handle on it, a new situation will get at you.

As the quote says, it's not so much about not getting angry, but about not acting on that anger to send out angry vibes because at the end of the day, all that serves to do is ruin your own inner calm, never mind the rest of the ripple effects.

So if it helps, maybe rephrase it "just for today, don't act on anger". The more times or days you can get by without acting on that anger, the more that situation has a chance to change/resolve or evolve and the anger may dissipate. If it doesn't, well then, go back to the start and "just for today, do not anger"!
